On April 7, Hangzhou Customs reported that Zhejiang's China-Europe Railway Express handled 63,000 TEUs of import and export cargo in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 4% year-on-year increase.
Since its launch 11 years ago, the Zhejiang China-Europe Railway Express has expanded to 25 operational routes, connecting approximately 160 cities across 50 countries in Asia and Europe. Each year, over 100,000 types of goods are exported globally via this rail network.
To enhance efficiency, Hangzhou Customs has implemented streamlined measures such as "Rail Express Clearance" and "Direct Port Loading." Under the Rail Express Clearance model, companies can submit applications at the origin customs office, completing declaration, inspection, and release procedures in one stop. The Direct Port Loading model enables "factory-to-port" direct shipment, where goods are pre-declared to customs during production and can be loaded immediately upon arrival at the port.
In Q1 2024:
Rail Express Clearance processed over 8,000 TEUs, a 13-fold increase YoY.
Direct Port Loading facilitated shipments worth over CNY 100 million.
