$600 Per TEU! Hapag-Lloyd to Levy Surcharge on These Two Ports!

Recently, Hapag-Lloyd has announced that a new adjustment to the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will soon take effect for cargo shipped from Asia and Oceania to the Port of Mombasa in Kenya and the Port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.


The surcharge is set at $600 per Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU).


It will apply to all cargo loaded on or after November 16, 2025 (based on the loading date) until further notice.

Countries/regions from Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong of China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macao of China, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan of China, Thailand and Vietnam.


Countries/regions from Oceania: Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna.
