MSC to launch new route from China & Korea to Southeast Asia

Mediterranean Shipping Lines (MSC) recently announced the launch of the "Pertiwi" service in the Asian intraregional market, providing direct services from China and South Korea to Southeast Asia. The maiden voyage is expected in early July.


The port sequence of the "Pertiwi" route is: Busan-Qingdao-Incheon-Dalian-Tianjin Xingang-Vung Tau-Laem Chabang-Singapore-Tanjung Pelepas-Jakarta-Panjang-Singapore-Tanjong Pelepas-Busan.


The maiden voyage is the 2500TEU "Cardiff Trader", which is expected to make its maiden voyage to Busan Port on July 8.


MSC is currently the liner company with the largest shipping capacity in the world, and it has always attached great importance to the Asian market, especially the Chinese market.


In March this year, Soren Toft, CEO of MSC, said in a video meeting with Zhao Chongjiu, Vice Minister of Transportation of China, that the Chinese market has played a very important role in the rapid growth of MSC's business. A firm supporter of export trade development.


Soren Toft said at the time that despite the impact of COVID-19, MSC maintained its firm commitment to the Chinese market. The company will adjust its routes in a flexible manner and continue to launch new routes to meet rapidly changing market demands.
